Spoek
Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: 9 May 2026
This page explains how to delete the data that Spoek — a personal AI assistant by Simple Semantics — holds about you. It applies whether you use Spoek in Telegram or in WhatsApp.
What we hold about you
Depending on how you use Spoek, we may hold:
- Your Telegram user ID or WhatsApp phone number, and your display name;
- Messages exchanged with the assistant in your chat;
- Information you have asked the assistant to remember;
- OAuth tokens for any calendar (Google, Microsoft Outlook) you have connected;
- Operational metadata such as timestamps and AI usage counts.
For a full overview, see our Privacy Policy.
How to request deletion
Send an email to kjell.van.straaten@simplesemantics.nl with the subject line "Spoek data deletion request" and include:
- The phone number you use for WhatsApp, or the Telegram username / handle that identifies you;
- The name of the Spoek (if you remember it) or the chat in which it operates;
- Whether you want us to delete all data we hold about you, or only specific categories (for example: only chat logs, only memory, or only calendar tokens).
So we can be sure the request comes from you, we may ask you to confirm it from the same Telegram or WhatsApp account that the data is associated with.
What happens next
- We acknowledge your request within 3 working days.
- We stop the assistant process associated with your Spoek and revoke any active OAuth tokens.
- We delete personal data from our database (Supabase) and from any per-Spoek files on our servers within 30 days of the request.
- We confirm by email once the deletion is complete.
We may retain a minimal record of the deletion request itself (for example the date and the requester's email) to demonstrate that we honoured the request, and we may retain data where retention is required by law.
Data that lives outside our systems
Some of your data is held by services we do not control. To delete data there, contact those providers directly:
- Telegram messages and account data — managed by Telegram. See telegram.org/privacy.
- WhatsApp messages and account data — managed by Meta. See whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Google Calendar data accessed via OAuth — revoke our app's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Microsoft Outlook Calendar data accessed via OAuth — revoke our app's access at account.microsoft.com/privacy.
- Anthropic processes message contents to generate replies; Anthropic's data-handling policy applies to that processing.
Quick way to stop data collection going forward
If you simply want Spoek to stop processing further messages, remove the bot from your chat. The assistant process will be stopped. Existing data is then retained as described in our Privacy Policy until you also send a deletion request as above.
